Project description
The Schloss Elmau Luxury Retreat & Spa opened in March 2015. To give the guests permanent, reliable access to power and data, OBO Bettermann supplied comprehensive systems for the electrical infrastructure of the hotel.
General building information
In its picturesque Alpine setting, the Schloss Elmau Luxury Retreat & Spa can fulfil the highest requirements of its guests, down to the last detail. Only high-quality systems were used to equip the boardroom, as well as the luxurious suites. Thus, in numerous rooms, underfloor systems with high-quality floor sockets made of stainless steel offer optimum access to power and data. Also on the window fronts, on walls and on dado trunking over the radiators, cable routing systems from OBO are installed.
Why did the customer choose OBO products?
More than 1,000 metres of mesh cable trays route cables discreetly, thus guaranteeing the standardised maintenance of electrical function in the event of fire, for the evacuation and firefighting systems. In close cooperation with the responsible technical planner, IEP Schwenzer / Raab GmbH, as well as the executive electrical installation company from Weilheim called Schöffmann, OBO delivered systems matched exactly to the requirements of the building.
The hotel – created according to the plans of the owner Dietmar Müller-Elmau, in cooperation with the architects Christoph Sattler and Claudia Dressel – complements the offer of the adjacent castle. In 2005, a fire destroyed two thirds of the protected Schloss Elmau, which was built in 1916. The traditional Schloss Elmau was reconstructed in less than two years, whilst expansion plans for the Retreat & Spa were created in parallel.
